Our Orleans Bed & Breakfast sits between the historic villages of Chatham & Orleans right at the "elbow" of Cape Cod. We are ideally located right on Pleasant Bay in Orleans, with spectacular water views, a small beach, a dock for fishing or swimming, and moorings for those who arrive by boat. Easy access to the white sandy beaches of Nauset, Skaket, Chatham and Monomoy. Beautifully appointed accommodations each with their own charming unique look and feel. Our air-conditioned bedrooms feature private spa bathrooms with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, luxurious towels and bed linens. A sumptuous European Buffet Breakfast is served on the patio overlooking the bay or the garden. Free wireless internet. Our Bed and Breakfast in Orleans, A Little Inn on Pleasant Bay, is a smoke free environment
*AIR TRAVEL: The Cape is about equal distance from both Boston Logan International Airport and T.F. Green Airport (Providence, RI). I will say, PVD (Providence) is a much smaller airport and tends to see less traffic than Logan. Your call! Expect about a 90 minute drive - but a beautiful one!
*Please allot an extra 30 minutes for car travel from your Google Maps ETA once on the Cape. While distances aren't far, there are few back roads or short cuts and traffic will be picking up this weekend! We highly recommend staying in Orleans or pretty close... Feel free to reach out to the bride with any questions!
* Due to limited space, carpool if possible. Cape traffic is notoriously slow in the Summer. Allow plenty of time wherever you go.
From 6A or 28 head East on Main Street in Orleans towards the beach. Continue until you come to East Orleans town center where a few shops and the Sundae School Ice Cream shop are located. Just past this commercial area you will see a fork in the road. Take the right side of the fork between The Barleyneck Inn and the Marina. You will be on Barleyneck Road. Lots of dips and curves and Barleyneck will turn into Pochet Road and finally turn to a gravel road. Continue straight onto gravel road. The road will come to a T, at the T you will see a valet attendant who will instruct you where to park. A golf cart will be shuttling guests from the parking lot to the house before and after the wedding. There is no parking at the house or on any neighborhood roads. The house is a 5 minute walk from the T, left and then a right down the hill and around a curve, however it is uneven footing and sandy. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Local brewery with the historic Jailhouse Tavern attached!
Step back in time at a real drive in movie! Two towns up the Outer Cape (towards PTown) from Orleans
Better yet - here's a list of all the beaches on the Cape! https://www.capecodchamber.org...
My two favorites are Nauset and Skaket!
Make it a day trip! Shopping, food, more shopping, art galleries and whale watch trips. The best days are to be had in this perfect place on the tip of Cape Cod! Click the link for our favorite Whale Watch company - a must do!!
A Britton family tradition... Don't fall in the water!
Go on a tour of where your favorite chips are made! Tours are only M-F. See more info here: https://www.capecodchips.com/a...
Fun bar, great food! Orleans' very own, and very popular, Cheers! Try the fish and chips, kale soup, a great burger or salads or try and a Cape Cod Patty Melt with Cod and Coleslaw on Pumpernickel - divine! Lunch or dinner. One of our favorite places.
Day trip to Chatham! An idyllic Cape Cod Main Street and beach town. Cute shops, a classic candy store. Walk one end to the other. On Beach Rd. you will find the Chatham Bars Inn overlooking Pleasant Bay where it meets the Atlantic. The Chatham Bars Beach Club is the hotel's beach front restaurant We never miss a chance to have lunch on their beautiful patio on the beach. Valet parking. Another great lunch spot is the Impudent Oyster just off of Main Street.
On Cape Cod Bay where the tide swings a full mile or more. Skaket to Brewster, the tide flows out further than anywhere in North American. Deep water boats and fishing guides launch out of the Harbor. Grab a Lobster Roll from Young's Fishmarket and find a spot on the pier. Walk out as far as you can at low tide or catch a killer sunset!
Find the Kennedy Compound! Walk Main Street and look for an old fashioned Magic Shop where we have found some great gags and tricks over the years.
No trip to the Cape is complete without a Cape League Baseball game! Each town has a team and an outdoor field. Some of the best MLB players played CCL during their college summers. There are games on the Thursday before and Sunday after the wedding at our Orleans Redbirds field. Catch one, or both! Bring a sweatshirt as it can get chilly.
